The Partnership

From 2017 to 2020, we worked closely with the Broadway team to scale the business and reach profitability. Together, we:

Strengthened the executive team

We recruited a new COO (former Portware COO Scott DePetris from our Executive Council) and CFO to add operational discipline.

Expanded the product suite through M&A

We sourced, negotiated, and completed the acquisition of BarracudaFX, expanding Broadway’s offerings in foreign exchange trading software.

Improved unit economics

We worked with management on pricing strategy, cost optimization, and business analytics.

Supported global expansion

Broadway had focused on the U.S. fixed income market. We supported the build-out of a global product, landing clients like Barclays and Nomura as a result.

Long Ridge has helped to push our understanding of what’s possible for our business. Across a number of dimensions, they have helped us refine our strategy and focus our efforts. We feel like they are absolutely a core part of our team and are completely aligned with our success.”

The Outcome

In February 2020, ION Group acquired Broadway Technology, capping a three-year partnership that transformed the business.

The Broadway case study reflects Long Ridge at our best: deep sector expertise, sourcing through our Executive Council, and hands-on value creation. Our prior investments in capital markets technology gave us credibility with management and pattern recognition in the space. Working closely with Tyler and Joshua, we transformed Broadway into a market leader by strengthening the team, expanding the product suite through M&A, and improving unit economics. When ION emerged as an eager strategic buyer, we were ready.
